Monster Truck Toys For Kids

By December 4, 2018 February 12th, 2019 No Comments

For toddlers ages one year to three years of age, there are certain toys they simply love: trucks. Not only do they love trucks, being able to push them and roll them, they love monster trucks.

With their gigantic wheels, bright colors, and big frames, Monster trucks are perfectly suited for two-handed play.

Regarding safety, because they are made of molded die-cast frames, big tires that roll around fixed axles, and are too large to fit in a child’s mouth, these monster trucks do not present a choking hazard. Because they are brightly colored and are usually capable of making a variety of noises, children love them. Finally, as a large yet inexpensive toy, parents get high value for a relatively low price.

Following are some of the best monster trucks available for toddlers.

14. Sai Bai Qi Pull Back Monster Truck

Pull-back monster trucks require no batteries. Instead, the encased spring mechanism allows children to “pull back” on the truck. Doing so creates tension on the internal spring. When released the truck zooms forward.

The Saibaiqi model has tough, thick, durable shock absorbers that will survive all the rough and tumble play any child can deliver. The available colors include red, off-road brown, and fluorescent green. The size allows one-handed play, but it’s large enough that it doesn’t represent a swallowing or choking hazard. The intended ages make this good for a child three years or older.

13. John Deere Monster Treads Deluxe Lightning Wheels Tractor

Suitable for children ages three years and older, this monster truck-tractor behemoth offers monster-class tires that will roll over any surface. At nearly 12-inches in length and standing nearly 8 inches tall, this is a true monster truck toy capable of outdoor play.

The genius of this toy is that the massive tires will roll over nearly every obstacle, ensuring unobstructed play in the yard or bedroom.

Additional features include:

– engine sounds are motion activated
– flashing lights inside the tire light up as the truck roll

Hot Wheels Monster Jam Die-Cast Vehicle – “El Toro Loco”

The Monster Jam series is comprised of mid-size toys of approximately seven inches in length and four inches in width. Each Monster Jam monster truck is modeled after the life-size original truck of the same name, and in the same way original Hot Wheels are meant to be collected, the Hot Wheels Monster Jam series offers several models, each perfect for collecting and make-believe competing.

– Grave Digger has thick tires with die-cast grooved treads. The body sports colorful decals with purple flames.
– Dragon has fins and over-sized teeth.
– Zombie is covered in gore decals and has a bloody, goo-infested cab.
– Batman has over-sized shock absorbers and a superhero bat emblem on the door

The recommended ages for the Hot Wheels series range from ages three to 10.

11. Joyin Toy 6 Pack Monster Friction Powered Truck Vehicles Big Tire Wheel Car Playset

Joyin Toys come in a set, which make them perfect for a group of friends. There are six monster-style trucks, all of which sport gaping maws of giant plastic teeth. These particular trucks are mid-size toys of approximately five inches long by four inches tall, so they are safe for any toddler and present no choking hazard. Bright colors include blue, orange, green, brown, silver, and off blue.

For the price, they are among the least expensive of the monster trucks. Because they are all included in a single collection, they are a perfect gift for children with siblings who want to share in the fun or for parents who want to open the pack and use them as individual stocking stuffers.

Over 100 customer rank this collection as 4 stars, making it an Amazon best choice.

10. Fisher-Price Nickelodeon Blaze & the Monster Machines, Tow Truck, Blaze

Marketed toward children ages three to five, this monster tow truck offers child-friendly rounded corners, bright colors, and the safety for which Fisher Price is known. Among the toy monster trucks, this one is large, coming in at a whopping 10 inches in length. At nearly 7 inches tall, it can be pushed, pulled, or rolled with one or two hands.

The working hood allows children to inspect the engine, and the internal speakers emit over 20 sounds and announcements from the Nickelodeon television show. Children will enjoy the blazing lights and how they can transform the truck back and forth from tow truck to monster truck.

9. Fisher-Price Nickelodeon Blaze & the Monster Machines, Robo Blaze

Robo Blaze is a smaller toy of approximately three inches and is designed after one of the vehicles from Nickelodeon. Brightly colored, Robo Blaze has flames for decals, eyes for headlights, and a smile for a grill. This character-based monster truck offers friendly fun for children ages three to five.

Robo Blaze is not the only character in this series. A variety of others include the following characters, each with a different style.

– Pickle is bright lime green and stubbled like a pickle. The car is modeled after a traditional sports coupe.
– Crusher Core is modeled after a diesel truck. It is blue and silver with a menacing character expression and “gonna-getcha” eyes.
– Stripes is a dune buggy with a yellow body and sharp purple stripes. A black antenna springs out of the back, and a crash cage envelops the driver’s seat.
– Race Car Crusher has a broad, silver spoiler, over-sized rear wheels, and a bright blue body.

8. VTech Go! Go! Smart Wheels Monster Truck

This monster truck emits “vroomy” sounds and songs and is intended to work alongside the SmartPoint Locations set. When used with the SmartPoint Locations set, it will emit phrases, sound effects, and melodies. The monster truck has working lights and is advised for toddlers ages one to three. However, it is also offered to children up to ages of five. For children who love zoo animals, this monster truck also works with the SmartPoint Animal tracks.

7. PBOX Monster Truck Friction Powered Cars for Kids

This is one of the more exciting toddler monster trucks.

The manufacturer recommends the PBOX truck for toddlers ages three months and up. Like other monster trucks, it is brightly colored, but unlike other monster trucks, this orange and blue palm-sized truck does tricks.

Friction-operated, all a child has to do is pull back on the truck, and off it goes.

Due to the oversize, genuine rubber tires and the friction accelerator mechanism, it can spin, roll, fall over, or flip. Regardless how it lands, it will eventually right itself and keep going.

At nearly four inches, it can be played with using one or two hands, and the anti-shock system allows for play in the home, in the yard, or in the sand at the beach.

6. Paw Patrol – Rescue Racer – Chase’s Monster Truck

The Paw Patrol series offer younger children ages three to five a variety of character-based monster trucks designed for both boys and girls.

– The Zuma monster truck is a brown puppy at the wheel of an orange truck with dual rear rotors.
– Rubble is a brown-and-white puppy with a yellow construction hat and frame.
– Marshall is a dalmatian in a red fire-chief’s hat.

5. Toystate Road Rippers Wheelie Monster Roarin’ Rhinoceros

The Roarin’ Rhino is a motorized monster truck. It is dark green with yellow “Rhino” decals and two orange cones for horns. It is manufactured for children ages two to four, and the loud engine sounds and blinking lights will help snare any child’s attention. Unlike other toys for this age range, the motorized action enables wheelies.

4. Toy State Road Rippers Light and Sound 10-inch Monster Truck: Bigfoot

More trucks should clearly identify the plastic as non-toxic. In this case, Road Ripper Bigfoot is clearly noted as being chemically safe. It offers a variety of features to keep your child enthralled:

– realistic engine sounds
– wheelie capabilities
– highly detailed, die-cast molding
– safety tested

The age range is described for toddlers as young as three years of age all the way up to high-school children of age 15.

3. Chartsea Monster Trucks Friction Powered Car

This is another pull-back, friction monster truck designed for children ages six months and up. Brightly colored purple, it operates by placing it on the floor, or any other surface, and then releasing it.

The encased spring winds tight, so as soon as it is released—vroom!—off it goes. Other models in this series include lime green, orange, and red.

2. Jeacy Hot Wheels Monster Jam Trucks Pull Back Car

Designed for toddlers ages one through three, the Jeacy Hot Wheels monster truck is another pull-back powered truck, but it is larger in size for one- or two-handed play.

It is a true pickup with an open bed, and it has a Bigfoot Thunder decal on each door. Unlike plastic trucks that might eventually break, this one is made of lightweight die-cast metal designed to last for years.

1. Mini Dolphin Pull Back and Go Car

The mini dolphin is designed for children ages six months and up. Unlike most of the other monster trucks that attempt to mimic real trucks, this series emphasizes animals.

The dolphin series consists of a brightly colored blue dolphin atop the standard monster-truck wheels, black body, and silver exhaust pipes. Like all pull-back toys, it zooms ahead after being pulled back and released. The spring mechanism is encased in sturdy plastic, so it is safe from prying hands.
